Synopsis for "History Lesson"

Jor-El studies the War of Clone Rights, which happened a thousand centuries earlier. His father Seyg-El arrives with Nara, who is the grandmother of Jor-El's fiancée Lara, and the Master of the Gestation Chambers, who has matched Jor-El and Lara together based on their near-perfect genetic matrix.

In the past, Van-L leads an attack on the Black Zero citadel that ends in an easy victory since Black Zero is unarmed. They head to the central assembly hall where Kan-Z is revealed to be the one behind the plot to blow up Krypton. He believes Krypton must be destroyed to atone for its sins against the clones.

Vara, who turned her back on Black Zero after mainstream Kryptonian society stopped using clones as organ banks, tries and fails to reason with Kan-Z. Van-L retreats to his Kryptonian Warsuit and destroys Black Zero's world destroyer, seriously injuring himself and Vara in the process. He is rescued by his son Jan-L and Jan-L's companion Zan-R. Vara dies from her injuries.

In the present, Jor-El receives the news of his betrothal in shock, and he offends his father and the Master of the Gestation Chambers by asking to see an image of Lara. Nara decides to grant his request. Jor-El declares his fiancée "beautiful."
