Synopsis for Mary Marvel: "Revolt of the Machines!"
A Strange Temple appears overnight in a large city park and is deemed of-regulations. People are unable to get to it due to an invisible wall. Mayor Johnson appeals to Mary Marvel, who flies to him and hears the problem. She flies through an opening at the top of the Temple and is attacked by a machine. A man inside says through black magic he was able to discover the true identity of the Marvel Family. He uses a Lightning Maker to produce artificial lightning and turn Mary back. He ties up and gags her. He tells her the invisible wall is made from glassified air, invented by one of his prize pupils. He apologizes for inconveniencing her but says this is the only way he can talk to her. He says he is a recognized scientist in his own country, but had a theory which couldn't be tested there. He used Black Magic to summon up the Shades of Darkness and tell them they could no longer help him. He had decided machines were the new spirits of power, so he went to America, the only country where machines have been developed on a high plane, and wants to set up schools for machines. He asks Mary to help him and she decides to play along. He ungags her and tells he will accept her help as he knows the Marvels are quite trustworthy. Mary helps him with the machines and sees him tell machines to stand together or fall apart. She tells him he must move the Temple, transforms, and does so herself, taking it to a field outside town. She takes him to the nearest industrial city. He continues to 'educate' machines. He uses television devices he placed in every place they visited to see the Pennington Typewriter Company, and they see the typewriters attack. Across the city machines rebel. Mary realizes he plans to use the machines for his own ends, but she is attacked herself. However she smashes his machines and within a few minutes destroys the Temple of Machines. She gives Rudi Eldritch ten minutes to leave for his home. In his land he plot revenge saying he will release the soul of every machine in the world. In America Mary looks at a newspaper saying 'Production Back To Normal'.
