Synopsis for Phantom Eagle: "The Golden Mace"
Mickey and Jerry are headed for a remote island, because a scientist wrote a letter about his discoveries signed with the signet of the Golden Mace, a legendary fixture "which contains the secret formula for international peace and unity". Unfortunately, they find he doesn't actually have the Golden Mace, he signs his letters with that symbol out of respect for what it represents. However the island does boast copious amounts of valuable pitchblende, which both America and its enemies would be eager to lay claim to. A German and a Japanese agent come to the island to find the mace (and the latter to secretly ensure only his country reaps the spoils). After a battle involving a 2-on-1 dogfight and the scientist distracting the enemy agents with magic tricks, Phantom Eagle heads home with a high-ranking Nazi dead and one of "the Mikado's" personal underlings in custody. He won't be satisfied until he finds the real Golden Mace, though.

Synopsis for Mr. Scarlet and Pinky: "Pop! Goes the Measles!"
Hy J. Wolf, owner of a beleaguered fur company, hires Brian Butler to look into who's been hijacking his shipments lately. While heading home to round up Pinky for this baffling case, he finds out his sidekick's come down with measles and is stuck in quarantine, leaving him to handle the case by himself.
He poses as the driver of the latest shipment, but is overwhelmed, even when he changes to Mr. Scarlet. The hijackers throw him into the back of one of the trucks and leave him to suffocate the exhaust fumes, but someone breaks a window, letting Mr. Scarlet escape, then leaves a note on the windshield to where the thieves are headed. Strangely, it's to one of Wolf's own warehouses. Scarlet's "guardian angel" continues to lend him aid when he finds an army of henchmen waiting for him, more than he possibly could've knocked out after the lights come back on, and then the police show up to collect the malefactors. The perpetrator turns out to be Mr. Wolf himself, pretending to steal and sell his own furs, while collecting insurance payouts on them. While Brian's walking past the quarantine house, it's implied Pinky snuck out to help his partner.

Synopsis for Commando Yank: "On Idol Island"
Tongo Island's been reclaimed from Japanese invaders by the Allied Powers, but still ships continue to be sunk and planes shot down by unseen attackers. Chase Yale, secretly Commando Yank, suggests the enemies might be hiding out on nearby Idol Island, but the CO refuses to entertain this as a possibility, as the natives allow no-one on their soil. He decides to disguise himself as an islander and investigate anyway, but his costume is seen through immediately by the first native who spots him, and one who speaks with a Brooklyn accent, yet! This native, "Grinny", agrees to take the masked hero to see "Butch", who lives in the idol the island's named after.
Butch's been in the idol for weeks, and Commando Yank finds out why: his suspicions were correct, and Japanese troops are hiding out inside. After knocking out the door guards, Yank sends Grinny to collect his fellow villagers for a full assault, while he discovers a miniature submarine base and gun emplacement underneath the idol. While escaping from the soldiers garrisoned there, Yank is pulled aside by "Butch". He turns out to be a Brooklyn expat who came to the island after some "trouble wid da cops". They build a fire and smoke out the remaining soldiers, leaving the natives to take care of the invaders. With that taken care of, Commando Yank drags Butch off to join the army, as every able-bodied man's needed.
