Synopsis for Mary Marvel: "Mary Marvel Duels the Swordfish"

Mary Batson is out on the water with a retired skipper, Captain O’Neill, who offers to take her to see the fishing boats at work netting for herring and mackerel… but finds them gone, replaced by a gigantic school of swordfish that soon attack their boat. Mary calls SHAZAM to become Mary Marvel and pushes the boat into the sky to safety and punches off some swordfish before she sets the boat back into the harbor. Mary turns back to normal to investigate further and finds most of the fishing boats are all in dock due to the swordfish problem, which none of the fishermen can explain. However, when Cap’n Kragger appears in a fully loaded ship with plenty of fish being sold, Capt. O’Neill accuses him of being involved and Cap’n Kragger kicks the old man in the rear. Mary calls SHAZAM to beat him and his goons back as Mary Marvel and they retreat to his ship. Mary Marvel is forced to leave him alone despite being docked, because if he’s on his ship and he’s Captain, his word is law on his ship! Mary sneaks aboard the ship in an empty fish basket and escapes when they’re at sea to find that the crew are painting his ship with a special swordfish fungus repellent that swordfish apparently hate, take in a ton of fish and then dump in a special feed that makes the swordfish come in from miles around and also makes them violent and crazy. Having seen enough to prove something, Mary goes to call SHAZAM, but is captured by the swordfish pirates, bound, gagged and dumped for the swordfish to get her. Mary manages to slip her gag on one of the swordfish and calls SHAZAM to fight off the feisty fish and then stabs Cap’n Kragger with a swordfish snout in his butt, then dumps him in a fish basket after she punches everyone on the ship. The evil fishermen are soon arrested and Capt. O’Neill says that his boat is fixed so they can sail home tomorrow. The next day, Mary Batson gets to enjoy some time at sea while Capt. O’Neill notes there’s not a swordfish to be seen!
