Synopsis for Mary Marvel, the World's Mightiest Girl!: "Modern Cliff Dwellers"
Mary Batson is out with Mrs. Bromfield to see the Cactus Shop in town, only for it to be attacked by “Coyote” Cal, a cowboy who robs stores. Mary calls SHAZAM to become Mary Marvel and Cal soon finds that shooting at Mary Marvel yields predictable results and throws two of his goons into cacti until Coyote throws a woman into a cactus so Mary Marvel will have to save her. They drive off quickly into the desert as cops shoot at them. The cop there says that he’s been doing this all week and know one knows where his hideout is. She soon tracks them to a cliffside area, but loses track of them herself. Not able to track them further, she returns to being Mary and goes back to ride horses with Mrs. Bromfield. Their guide shows that Natives used to live in the cliffside dwellings, only for Coyote Cal to return and attack them. Mary calls SHAZAM and becomes Mary Marvel again, only for Coyote’s horse Calico to kick her in the rear, knocking her over a moment. She soon finds that the goons hid their car and horses behind a collection of fake bushes. She soon spots that there’s smoke coming from the Clifftop Dwelling Ruins and that Coyote Cal is hiding out there. When she flies at them, they race into a system of caves connected to the Clifftop Dwelling. She breaks through a thicker door and finds several dead Native Americans, who are perfectly preserved by volcanic gases. While isn’t looking, one of them gets up. Mary Marvel heads in further, but finds that it’s rather dark and calls SHAZAM to use magic lightning to look around and spots them, only for Cal to knock grab her from behind and she soon finds herself bound and gagged to be thrown off a cliff. Mary is shocked to see that the Natives were only in suspended animation and now have decided to kill the dangerous white criminals attacking their city. Mary, dropped, grinds her face on a nearby rock to slip her gag and calls SHAZAM to stop the outlaws from riddling the Natives with bullets and quickly explains that these are criminals, there’s peace with white people and they resign themselves to a simple life in their Cliffside Dwelling. Mary Marvel suggests that they run a guided tour of the ruins and charge admission to do so and they’ll be rich soon, carrying off the outlaws to jail.
