Synopsis for Ibis the Invincible: "The Coming of Half-Man, Part 1"

This story is reprinted from Whiz Comics #21.

Ibis answers the summons of a military general who asks for his help against the rising spectre of war, but Ibis proves to be one step ahead. He reckons this is the work of a forgotten evil god, and agrees to travel into occupied Europe to duel with this force of evil. His plane's shot down, but he magically conjures a parachute and turns invisible. An errant word from the soldiers that attacked his plane betrays they think Ibis is one of their leaders, which clues Ibis in that his foes are also masters of the occult. After some sneaking he makes it into their headquarters, but in the dark his wand's stolen before he finds himself confront by the villainous Half-Man. This force of evil was once a brave soldier, but injured badly in battle so he has only one eye, one arm, one leg, and studied black magic to make up for his destroyed physical prowess. Ibis sees off Half-Man's underlings, but is distracted when Taia, who couldn't bear to be apart from Ibis for so long, enters the room. Half-Man knocks Ibis unconscious by hitting the white wizard with his crutch.

Jim Dolan is set up for an unsuccessful ambush attempt, and just misses having a cinder block dropped on him from a rooftop, then chases one of the would-be killers, across some rooftops, into a second ambush. He thrashes three thugs, throwing one of them over the side, and beats some info out of the last one standing. He pays a surprize visit to gang czar Orranto, interrupting his meeting with the mysterious foreign agent, Zara. He punches out Orranto and dodges a dagger thrown by Zara, then chandelier-swing-kicks two reinforcement thugs, before wrapping up the fight. Lt. Moran arrives to take charge of the scene, but meanwhile Zara has escaped.

Synopsis for Bulletman: "Return of the Unholy Three, Part 1"

This story is reprinted from Master Comics #18.

Twiddley Fairchild and his henchmen break jail, Brutus easily twisting their jail bars out of the way. During their escape, Fairchild's shot, and has the three swear to carry on his quest for vengeance, this time against Bulletman. Jim and Susan visit a wax museum that has new exhibits in likeness of their fearsome foes, the Unholy Three. These mannequins quickly turn out to be the real thing, when they grab Susan and the giant Brutus attacks Jim as Bulletman, but flees when the hero starts getting the best of him. A note arrives on Sgt. Kent's desk telling him to let Bulletman know they've got Susan, something Kent despairs of being able to do since no-one knows how to contact Bulletman. He inadvertently does so by bemoaning his situation to Jim, who dons his gravity helmet and after flying back and forth looking for a clue, thinks to check Fairchild's hideout in the old castle. He finds Susan tied to a table and about to be impaled by a descending pendulum. Nosey the dwarf pulls a lever the blows up the whole room. Bulletman's saved by his helmet's power, but what's become of Susan?
