Synopsis for "Safeword, Part III"
Yorick Brown has been subjected to psychosexual torture by Agent 711 and has finally relented to having sex with her.[1] Disgusted, she climbs off his body and claims that sex is not what he really wants: what he wants is to die. She continues pushing his mind and body by holding him underwater and interrogating him until he admits that in the days after the gendercide,[2] he came closing to killing himself, but he was drawn to find his loved ones. He is so overwhelmed by the ordeal that he asks Agent 711 to drown him. She holds his head under water and he has a brief vision that gives him the will to live. He punches her and runs upstairs to find that the two of them were in her cabin the entire time, even after she had claimed they were in an even more remote site.
Agent 711 explains that what he experienced was a suicide intervention that she devised based on reading Agent 355's journals. She needed to ensure that he had a will to live and would not be reckless and put himself in unnecessary danger.
A short time later, the two of them are reading books on her porch, when Agent 355 and Allison Mann return from the hospital with a rejuvenated Ampersand. The quartet head off to San Francisco to Mann's laboratory and after they wish Agent 711 a fond farewell, her home is invaded by a trio in burqas who demand the Amulet of Helene. When she reaches for her gun, she is shot several times and dies thanking them.
