Synopsis for "Tongues of Flame, Part II"
Yorick Brown met Beth, a former flight attendant who now lives in a California church and the two immediately felt an attraction to one another and had sex in the churchyard.[1] Yorick feels guilty for cheating on his fiancee Elizabeth Deville, but Beth counters that she may not be alive and if she is, he has no reason to think that she has tried to be true to their relationship since all other men died over a year and a half ago. The two embrace again and once they are inside the church and dressed, they are accosted by the Daughters of the Amazon, looking to raid. She gets into a theological debate with them and is confronted with renouncing God or dying.
Before she is killed, Yorick cuts off the lights and scares off two of the three invaders by claiming to be an apparition from God. Beth fights her way out of the third's grip, who also runs off with her compatriots. Beth and Yorick say good byes: she feels like she needs to attend to the church and graveyard and he has to get to a laboratory in San Francisco to see if he can help save the human race.
Meanwhile, in the Australian Outback, Elizabeth Deville and her colleague Margo come across an Aboriginal women's village which is not welcoming of them.
