Synopsis for "Boy Loses Girl"

In the Australian Outback, Beth Deville has stumbled across an Aboriginal village of women who have abducted her and her fellow anthropologist Margo.[1] Beth sits tied to a tree and dreams of when she first met Yorick Brown in college and she broke down in tears discussing a break-up.

She has another recollection of when the gendercide first hit and devastated her small group of anthropology students. A racist colleague blamed the Aboriginals and ran off to survive on her own.

A third vision of her father's funeral when she was a girl leads into a remembrance of a time that she and Yorick had recently had sex on their one-year anniversary.

Another vision of Yorick's grandfather's funeral has his sister Hero Brown cryptically warning her about Yorick.

She is briefly awakened in the hot sun to two Aboriginal women: Mulya is skinning game while her unnamed fellow villager proposes that Beth has been sent to them for a mystical reason.

As Beth passes out again, she is reminded of a time that she and Yorick agreed to run away from their lives and meet in Paris. This dream turns into a brief superhero adventure where she saves him from a giant rampaging monkey and in the dream, he tells her that he is alive.

Beth awakens by the side of a road with no idea how she got there, but the sense that her lover is still out there.
