Synopsis for "The Coming of the Young All-Stars"
Helena Kosmatos, the young girl known as Fury, has a premonition that she saw a giant version of a robot named Mekanique attack and slaughter the entire assembled All-Star Squadron. Her guardians, Johnny Quick and Liberty Belle, decide to take Helena to their headquarters to find out. Tsunami appears unto Neptune Perkins and reveals that her family has been taken into a Japanese interment camp and she now seeks his help. The Royal Canadian Air Force deal with a mysterious flying man in a furry cape, who turns out to be Flying Fox. TNT and Dyna-Mite deal with Nazi saboteurs planning to blow up a dam in Indian Creek, Colorado, which results in TNT being killed and his soul being taken by Gudra the Valkyrie to Valhalla. "Iron" Munro comes to the rescue of Dyna-Mite, but is unable to save his partner TNT from Gudra.

Trivia
- The Golden Age heroes featured on the cover include (on left) Hawkman, Dr. Fate, TNT, (on right) Starman, Liberty Belle, Amazing Man, (on bottom) Johnny Quick.
- Helena's premonition comes true in Young All-Stars Annual #1, though in a fashion different from how she saw it: Mekanique actually shrunk the members of the All-Star Squadron and led them into the basement to fight against them in the model of a then-future metropolitan city.
- This story, although not exactly the first post-Crisis All-Star Squadron story written (that honor goes to All-Star Squadron #64), is the first one that follows the events in All-Star Squadron #60.
