Synopsis for "First Memory"

Part One

An unnamed being narrates the story. It was present as some type of primal energy since the dawn of time but in an "undefined" state. An ancient Atlantian sorcerer drew upon this primal energy and created a humanoid form for it, and it suddenly understood awareness. However, the sorcerer Arion managed to destroy the humanoid form and trap the energy within a crystal.

The entity was later freed by a boy named Matthew Stuart, who used the entity's powers to become Bedlam and create a world without adults. Young Justice and the JLA managed to defeat Bedlam, but they were unaware of the entity's continued existence and, therefore, made no effort to contain it.

Because the entity was drawn to sentience but was annoyed and hurt by it, it found a home in Red Tornado's android shell, where sentience was present but emotions were not. Tornado somehow managed to tap into his energy allowing him to dream and develop rudimentary humanity. However, Tornado's encounter with Harm reminded him of his lack of humanity and the android became cold and distant even to his family.

After being attacked by the Psyba-Rats, Red Tornado became even worse, prompting Young Justice to intervene. Secret recalled sensing a presence within Tornado during the battle with Harm, but at the time, she thought it was normal. At the behest of her teammates, she enters Tornado's body again to see if the presence is still there.

Secret finds the entity and manages to drive it out of Red Tornado, but the purple humanoid has had time to heal and grow more powerful since the battle with Bedlam. Empowered by the emotions of Young Justice, the entity taps into their imaginations for fuel by forcing the words, "And suddenly ..." into their minds. Their various imaginations create numerous waking dreams in which many (or all) of the heroes participate in. These dreams are chronicled in the following stories.

Part Two

The entity feeds off the imaginations of Young Justice until he becomes large and powerful enough to burst free of the Secret Sanctuary, expelling the heroes. They try to attack the entity, but are unsuccessful.

Red Tornado realizes that the entity had planned to do away with all humanity. Traya Sutton tearfully cries out to her robotic father, saying she doesn't want to be without him. So Red Tornado demands that the entity turn him human so he could die with his family.

The entity agrees out of surprise and Red Tornado embraces his family. The entity watches this and is touched by Red Tornado's humanity. It found itself wondering for the first time what being a human would be like. The entity then imagined this though, which caused his powers to create the reality.

In a large, purple explosion, the entity releases his energy. Red Tornado is reverted to his android form, and the entity is reborn as a human baby.
