Yz is Thunderbolt, the magical companion to Johnny Thunder. It was originally believed that he was a genie from Badhnisia. However, he was later revealed to be a djinn from the 5th Dimension. His magical powers are extremely vast, but he is limited to obeying Thunder's commands. Following Johnny's retirement, he began working with an urban youth named Jakeem Thunder. He has been involved with the All-Star Squadron and the Justice Society. Yz was created by John B. Wentworth and Stan Aschmeier, first appearing in Flash Comics #1. (1940) |
