Zambesi is an African country that has been through years of violence and suffers from lawlessness and poaching.
History
It was, for a long time, run by dictator Mustapha Maksai, who killed his half-brother Richard Jiwe in a heated race for presidency. Jiwe's daughter, superhero Vixen, later avenged him.

- Vixen's home country was initially called D'Mulla,[1] but it was later changed to M'Changa.[2] This eventually evolved into "the Zambesi nation"[3] and later just Zambesi. The Vixen webseries addresses this discrepancy by making M'Changa a province of Zambesi.
- The exact location of Zambesi is unclear. It is usually described as Central African,[2] but also in the shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania[3] as well as on the slave coast of West Africa.[4] The Zambesi River is an actual river in East Africa (flowing through Zambia and Zimbabwe). Mustapha Maksai's last name is Swahili (East African).[2] The Tantu Totem draws from Ashanti folklore and Yoruba animism.[5]
