Synopsis for "Come Together; II"
Zatanna is shocked by the sudden appearance of her mother, Sindella in the middle of the street. The apparition gives Zatanna a mysterious message before she disappears as fast as she had appeared. Zatanna is confused and doesn't understand what the whole thing could mean, so she returns home and has a comforting evening with Marsha. However, Zatanna can't sleep and she attempts to perform her usual magic, which she still feels is not as effective as it used to be.
The next day, Zatanna is tired and can't concentrate on her work In the evening, she goes on a date with Ron, with whom things are not going well. The two of them argue and Zatanna gets upset by a street performer, which causes her to turn the man's musical instrument to dust with her unique magic abilities. Zatanna realizes that her untapped magic is unleashed only under stressing circumstances and she is unsure how to train to use them at will. Exhausted after trying all possible methods, Zatanna falls asleep and meets her former lover Constantine in her dreams. The reunion allows her to understand that what she needs is hidden in her home's attic.
Zatanna goes to the attic in the middle of the night and finds two powerful magical items that belonged to her parents. A powerful staff and the Talisman of Atlantis give Zatanna the ability to perform powerful magic without the need to use backwards spells. This realization gives Zatanna newfound confidence and power as she never had before. However, the magic performed by Zatanna attracts the attention of an ancient demon that draws closer to the magical source and starts destroying the outskirts of San Francisco.
The next day, Zatanna has a splendid day at her work, as her mood has improved significantly. She even starts to flirt with Joshua, Marsha's son, and arranges to go on a date with him on the weekend. Zatanna continues to use her magic across the city, which only causes the ancient demon to draw closer to the city, allowing the monster to spread chaos and destruction on its path towards Zatanna.
