Synopsis for "A Thgin Fo Ssol"

Zatanna continues to explore the illusory realm the Lady White had escaped into, all the while the illusion of Bruce keeps her company. She is confused that Bruce doesn't know her name and even she tells him, he can't spell it out. They walk into the balcony so they can have some privacy, and watch as Basil Karlo arrives at the party, with the Lady White close by.

Back in Adam's apartment, Blue Devil attempts to free himself from the astral chains Zatanna tied him in until he is visited by, Brother Night, who admits his interested in Blue Devil's suit. Everything Brother Night does is in the name of his own pleasure, whether it's power or making Zatanna suffer. Killing Adam undoubtedly affected Zatanna, but not as much as the death of Blue Devil would. His attempts to take the skin of the demon Nebiros fail, so he settles with corrupting Adam's corpse and turning it into his slave.

In the illusion, Zatanna angrily confronts the Lady White but is unable to do anything against her because of the sword still plunged into her chest. The realm of the illusion changes to accomodate for Lady White's presence and Bruce immediately recognizes her as an actress and Basil's co-star. Within the illusion, Basil thinks Adam is just a character he played in a movie, but Zatanna replies that Adam was a real person and he died thanks to the Lady White.

Basil still thinks the world they're in is real, but Zatanna explains that they are trapped in an illusion caused by Basil's grief and regrets. Even the Bruce standing next to Zatanna is fake. The illusion around them starts to crumble and Basil's wife and daughter vanish into clay. Basil is consumed by grief and stabbed through the chest by a golden spear similar to the sword affecting Zatanna. He becomes Clayface again and, goaded by the Lady White, attacks Zatanna, who asks Lady White why is she obsessed with destroying her. Lady White replies that the Zataras took everything for her and now, she will collect what she is owed.

Lady White escapes and leaves Zatanna at the mercy of Clayface, who is angry that Zatanna took away his chance to get his life back. Zatanna understands the pain of losing loved ones but ignoring the pain and indulging in magic won't solve anything. Despite her pleas, Clayface refuses to listen and Zatanna is forced to go on the offensive. She summons all the power she has, works through the pain caused by the sword and unleashes a spell that rips apart the illusory realm.

A magical void threatens to consume everything in the illusion, including Zatanna herself, but a mysterious voice tells Zatanna to control herself. Zatanna undoes the spell but exhausts all her power and falls unconscious. The illusion has been reduced to a ruined landscape and the Lady White leaves a red letter next to the unconscious Zatanna before returning to the real world. At Adam's apartment, Brother Night has turned Adam into an undead slave and left the weakened Blue Devil as a meal for the Lady White.
