Professor Zool was the scientist who artificially evolved an ordinary ape into a very large, extremely strong, human-looking woman. His creation, Giganta, became a recurring foe of Wonder Woman.[1]
History
Zool taught biology classes at Holliday College. He once requested the gorilla Giganta after she escaped from the zoo and proved to be super strong, capable of tearing through the metal of her cage when sufficiently motivated. He was given the gorilla to experiment on and her made her far more humanoid and intelligent. The tall, strong and now angry woman was quite upset at being used in this way.

- This version of Professor Zool, including all history and corresponding appearances, was erased from existence following the collapse of the original Multiverse in the 1985–86 Crisis on Infinite Earths event and later restored following the rebirth of the infinite Multiverse during the Dark Crisis of 2022-2023. Even though other versions of the character may have appeared, this information does not apply to those versions.
