The Forbidden City of Zootibar was destroyed by an aerial bombing raid in 1946.

History

Somewhere in the tropical part of the western Pacific Ocean is Zootibar, the Forbidden City. In 1946, Yankees were not welcome there, and the U.S. Navy had likewise declared the town to be off limits to all personnel. One hard-headed naval officer, Capt. "Spin" Shaw, decided to spend some time there while he was on leave. There he encountered a Japanese team of Suicide Agents, in stolen G.I. uniforms, carrying out an elaborate kamikaze mission, against the occupying U.S. forces. General Rozu commanded this project, whose goal was to crash a light bomber loaded with explosives into an American air base. Capt. Shaw was captured but escaped, grabbed control of the bomber, unloaded its bombs onto Zootibar, then crashed the plane into the jungle.

Notes

  • The chronicles give no estimate of the number of Zootibar civilians killed in this raid, but the heart of the town was blown to bits.
